Another shot we intent to use is a close up. The close up will be of Georgia's guitar and will focus on specific instruments we are using within the video. By using a guitar highlights to our audience
the effort our group have gone to; learning the notes on the guitar so that the video is filled with quality, making it more realistic and eye catching. This close up will also create clarity to our audience that we as a group do follow some of the typical codes and conventions of our chosen genre, which makes the video very effective due to diversity throughout, keeping the audiences attention and not losing their concentration.
A third camera shot we wish to include is a high angle shot. The high angle shot will portray Georgia and Drew standing still in the middle of a fast moving crowd at night by Liverpool Street station. The fact that their stood still together whilst a wide range of diverse people move around
them, highlights how exclusive they are as a couple and are so in love. Although the image of the music video has changed to a more dark, eary and edgy look, this shot has underlying relation to the typical codes and conventions portraying such a strong relationship. This high angle shot will catch an audiences attention emotionally as most can relate to it or aspire for it later in life.
We as a group would also like to use a mid shot of the couple next to a bonfire as it burns. This will leave the location a mystery to the audience and gives the video an edgy vibe, being unique and different. It will be shot in low key lighting and the fire itself will be the only source of lighting. The fact that the lighting is limited will almost create silhouettes of the two, but still making it obvious to the audience what they are doing, such as melting marshmallows. This effective shot will create a relationship with the audience as they become aware of the couple bonding together which will emotionally touch them. It will also highlight diversity and make it interesting to watch, as we constantly change our location, lighting, camera shots and so on to create a memory effect of their relationship through time.
Our target audience will be able to build a relationship with the characters within the video through the variety of camera shots, all coming together to create a successful story on a typical teenage relationship. The facts that Georgia is such a relatable character in the way they she dresses and the lyrics she sings, makes it so easy for an audience to emotionally connect to.
This post demonstrates proficient planning techniques. You have considered the purpose of camera shots well and the effect that it will create towards an audience. Now you need to focus on the codes and conventions of an indie music video in further detail, and aim to relate your points back to your conventions.
